OUR WEDDING 23 DEC 2009
Slept at close to 2am, I woke up at 6.00am, washed up and waited for my make-up artist, videographer and photographer to arrive at 6.30am. I wasn't the first to wake up in the family. The sweetest dad (to me) in the world woke up at 4am to prepare fried bee hoon for everyone. =)
My mum lit up the dragon-phoenix candles around 7am, the start of the auspicious hour.
The make-up artist was late due to earlier appointment... So we were a little short of time to doll up for the day's event. The Groom reached at 8am sharp while she was doing my hair..
We had time to take a family photo, got my parents to 'veil' me.. and retreated to my bedroom since June 1999.
The Groom, Mr Chang Boon Leong, waited anxiously for door boy to open door for him.
Took a brotherly picture and proceeded upstairs.
"I, Chang Boon Leong, is here to fetch the bride, Kam Yu Ling!"
Something funny happened. HAHAAH. I brought home the hand bouquet..
The sisters put it up for sale at $150. =D Expensive task 1.
Task 2: To finish the sour-sweet-bitter-spicy cubes specially prepared by the sisters.
Task 3: Use their foot to pick up the main door's key!
It wasn't over, there were indoor tasks too.
First, to translate some lovely message from mandarin to hokkien. Then a song and dance item, followed by another ang bao haggling session for 'open sesame'!
Tadah! The groom got in! Gave the bride a kiss, ate glutinous rice balls and out they went!
Took photos for family, sisters and brothers.
Off we went to groom's place in the west for tea ceremony.
I realised he wasn't wearing his corsage. LOLS! Pinned it for him..
Family photo again...
And to our own place @ 550. Tristan was so happy jumping on our bed. I changed into the cheongsum for tea ceremony for my side.
Evening came.. our emcees, Ivy & Alvin met for their first time. They rehearsed and had nasty plans to sabotage the us. The guys prepared the venue for our ROM while I was getting my face powdered.
After the 'I do', we took many pictures with many friends. Guests started streaming in... one by one, group by group.. I actually mingled and took many pictures with them before the banquet commenced. =)
Our first march in with the new style traditional wedding march song. =)
Cut the cake. 2nd march in, pop the champagne.
And the emcees did sabotage us! They wanted a song and dance from us. We sang a duet and left the dancing part to my parents (they were sabotaged by their friend, hehe!). =D
Moved from table to table for phototaking, sat down for some food and prepared for 'Byebye ceremony' when the last dish was served. I was sulking at the thought of missing my yam paste dessert... TK knew and immediately got me one bowl!
From that day forth, a new journey began.
With love.
